Since a year the atmosphere at home has changed radically. Her parents hardly talk anymore, and that’s why Mariska (13) flees out of this suffocating atmosphere. At the beach she meets Christiaan, a kite-surfer, who gives Mariska a sense of freedom to which she yields more and more. Due to her behavior, the relationship of her parents is endangered, and even when her father decides to leave them, she keeps on fighting for a change within the family.
